Is it ok to train a puppy crate for 8 hours!?

I will always be a puppy in the summer (West Highland Terrier) and then when school starts again the puppy is around 14 weeks old. Is not it cruel to leave the puppy alone for 7-8 hours? I thought it would be a good idea if I wired in a box the door was opened place it in a bed, and then put them in a pen, so they can sleep, eat, drink, take bathrooms (puppy pad?), playing with toys, and companies have the radio or TV. Is this a good idea? Or is crate training is a better option for a 14 wk old puppy as a puppy pad / outdoor train or? my mother shes not as night-shift in the house all night so she could sleep, it can be to go to the bathroom around12 or do 1 u think that works out?

I think that should be fine. Terriers are small dogs, so you should be able to train them for the outside and inside. They are not big of a mess, especially when around that time. You should see the puppy in his crate at night to use, as he sleeps. If you go away, put him in a place that is, gives him plenty of space for frolicking, Perhaps his crate, pee pads, and foodstuffs.
