What do they teach in school puppy?

I'm thinking about taking my puppy obedience training the dog of my friend and I wondered what they teach the puppies. Is it useful or just a waste of money? If owners want to come are allowed? my puppy is nine weeks. What is the earliest age you can start puppy school?
